Magnus Moan devotes himself to two types of Skiing that are complete opposites: cross-country skiing and ski jumping. It takes endurance and strength, as well as technique and courage. He is one of the world's best skiers in the Nordic Combined, with 14 World Cup victories and 10 World Championship and Olympic medals. “I think the Nordic Combined is the ultimate test of skiing,” says Magnus. “We must have an incredibly broad set of skills to succeed.” Colder the faster you go Cross-country skiing is his best event - and the event where the hands are exposed to the greatest stress. “I have quite long fingers and they quickly get cold. The cold is my biggest enemy when I compete in long distances. You actually get colder the faster you go. The pendulum motion of the poles is so fast that the blood supply to the fingers is reduced. I switched to Hestra last winter because they make the best cross-country gloves that I have ever tried.”
